President, Engineer and Surveyor. Neil started surveying for Atkinson Engineers at age 10. He graduated from Texas A&M’s Civil Engineering program in 1999. He returned to working full time with his father, R.M. Atkinson, Jr.,PE, RPLS, as an E.I.T. After 4 years of working on a variety of projects he passed the PE and became a professional engineer. In 2006 he received his professional surveyor license. He has done site design for shopping centers, neighborhoods, office complexes, apartment complexes, warehouses and industrial complexes. He has worked on flood mitigation projects, as well. His reputation, demeanor, and knowledge have been an asset to the client as an expert witness in all the cases he has been asked to be involved in. After 19 years of experience as both a surveyor and an engineer he has a vast amount of knowledge on ways to get the job done correctly.
Robert Smalley, PE
Engineer, Project Manager, and S.I.T. Rob graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2012 with a B.S. in Mining Engineering. After school, he began work with Barrick Gold Corporation as a mine engineer at the Bald Mountain gold mine in Elko, Nevada. Upon moving to Texas in 2014, he worked on the surveying crew for West Belt Surveying. In May of 2015, Rob joined the Atkinson Engineers team and has since earned his Professional Engineering and OSSF Site Evaluator licenses. Currently, he is working on obtaining his surveying license while assisting Neil with site design and project management. Rob brings 6 years of broad experience to the team.
